Hi dolls! I'll be flying tomorrow for a short trip to Bali, Indonesia so I thought of sharing with y'all the contents inside my trusty travel make up bag. I'm struggling to pack light since I always feel the need to bring my whole bedroom whenever I go. But for make up, my huge fear of losing/breaking them makes me carry just the products that I really need.
Today, I will be writing about my holy grail eye shadow primer. It is from Nars, and mind you, it's the best! I have tried a couple eye shadow primers in the past, but nothing in my books is comparable to this one.
I remember all the hype about this foundation when it was first released some years ago. I got a sample of this and loved it so much that despite its hefty price tag (Php2,550), I decided to give this a go (pump sold separately). Up to this time, I still have no regrets in buying this foundation. I always feel the prettiest when I have this on which I think is what every make up should do. #HolyGrail
You could have the most expensive make up in your stash, but without the right tool to apply it, it would just end up looking like trash on your face. So armed with the fact that I have too much make up than what I actually need, I am slowly trying to cut down on buying make up and trying to invest on highly-crafted make up brushes instead. So, I made an index of the make up brushes that I would like to own someday, and the Nars Yachiyo Kabuki brush is on top of my list.
You see, I have this beauty lust list that I badly need to own. So I went make up shopping yesterday to scratch a few products on my list. If you've been reading my beauty babbles for awhile now, you'd probably know by now how I adore the brand Nars. With that being said, here's everything that I got!
Today, I have a collective beauty haul to share with y'all. It's a good mix of products - make up, skin care and make up brushes. I adore everything that I got and I hope you guys would love them too. Lets begin!
If you love Taylor Swift (like I do!), you probably already know how she professed her huge love for this lip color from Nars. Like any hardcore fan, I immediately went to my fave Nars counter (at Rustan's Shang), swatched Dragon Girl on my arm and uttered a silent sigh of admiration. No wonder it's one of Taylor Swift's must-have make up products!
Nars may describe Golshan as "spiced wine", but I'd say it's more of a deep warm brick-red with just the right amount of brown undertones. I love that it doesn't lean too red - making it not too bold for a casual work day, nor excessively brown - making you look twice your age. Really, the perfect ratio between these hues makes Golshan, worth owning.
When my ever reliable Nars MUA informed me that the new Nars Satin Lip Pencils were already available at the Nars Shang counter, I scrammed. With a giddy heart and an intention to get Yu (shocking pink), I was at the Nars counter in no time. Unfortunately, I swatched Yu and Mac Girl About Town next to each other (see swatch) and got the dupe alert! So I skipped Yu, and followed my Nars MUA recommendation and settled for Lodhi instead. Let me tell you, best decision (and reco) ever!
Every now and then, we all need to indulge in a bit of retail therapy. I wasn't in my happiest mood lately, so I thought shopping (and ice cream) might help uplift my state. And as superficial as it may sound, hauling (and again, ice cream) really helped me feel better (in a way). Hopefully, you'd feel the positive vibes in this beauty haul post too. Enjoy!
Heads up all make up aficionados, there is a new lip product in town and it is gorgeous! Arresting
color, seductively satin finish. This season, NARS dresses up lips in the new
Satin Lip Pencil. Statement shades smolder with rich, color-bright pigments drenched
in decadent moisture for an ultra creamy finish. Lips look sumptuously
saturated and dramatically defined.
Hands down, Nars makes one of the best blushes in the market. And with the upcoming Nars x Pierre Hardy collection which would be available this coming May, prepare to get electrified with two new limited high voltage blushes from the brand. Say hello to one of the most pigmented blushes that I have ever seen in my life; - Nars Rotonde blush.
If there is one polish pair that you need to get from the Nars x Pierre Hardy Shoe Inspired Nail Polish Collection, it's no other than this set. Vertebra gives you the best of both worlds; - a creamy coral and a dusty rose one which enables you to either go neutral or tropical on your nails depending on your mood. Better yet, apply both and use the coral one as an accent color for a pop of unexpected fun!
Any die-hard shoe fanatic dreams of having a pair from French shoe designer, Pierre Hardy in her collection. His designs are fierce, striking and fashion forward. I may not love shoes more than make up, but when I learned about his collaboration with Nars, I was beyond ecstatic. You see, polishes and blushes bring me to blissful (make up) land in a snap!
At one point or another, we want to shake things a little and try something beyond our comfort zone. While others venture into a new sport or hobby, I sit patiently in front of my vanity and paint my face with bolder make up. I have no problems sporting bright lips, but I tend to go easy on my eyes. But if you're not as apprehensive as I am in wearing color, well say hello to this fierce eye shadow duo from Nars; - Fashion Rebel.
I love how Francois Nars gives patronage to beautiful places by naming some of his products after them. It just gives me so much joy discovering another incredible shade from his line, while learning more about geography (and history) at the same time. A good example is this delicious single eye shadow in Euphrate. French for Euphrates, the longest and one of the most important rivers of Western Asia that empties into the Persian Gulf.
I must have mentioned a bazillion times already that I am not a big lip gloss person. Yes, I like how they make my lips look softer, juicier and extra glossy. However, I really find the sticky texture of most lip glosses insanely annoying. I have long hair and seeing my gloss all smeared onto my face just because the wind decided to blow towards my direction is a disaster!
Good thing, I could already lavish into all the perks of wearing a gloss minus the tacky feel. Heaven must have heard my silent scream for help because a lot of make up brands right now are coming out with non-sticky lip glosses. Say hello to my latest non-sticky lip gloss find (and love); - Nars Larger Than Life Lip Gloss in Paris Follies.
