Nars Dragon Girl Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

If you love Taylor Swift (like I do!), you probably already know how she professed her huge love for this lip color from Nars. Like any hardcore fan, I immediately went to my fave Nars counter (at Rustan's Shang), swatched Dragon Girl on my arm and uttered a silent sigh of admiration. No wonder it's one of Taylor Swift's must-have make up products!
Dragon Girl is described as "siren red" on the Nars website. It is a rich matte pinky-cherry red shade that brightens the face in a swipe. Part of the brand's velvet matte range, it is housed in this jumbo pencil that works better in adding precise color and definition to the lips than your regular lipstick.
Despite it's velvety matte finish, Dragon Girl never makes my lips dry and peel. It may not be as moisturizing as the Velvet Gloss line, but the formula of this one is way better than your average matte lipsticks (err.. Mac Ruby Woo). It's very comfortable to wear and lasts decently (4-6 hrs) on the lips. You could get away with a good number of bites and drinks, and still see the color evenly faded on your lips. So f you have plans on going hardcore on partying and needs a reliable lip color, make sure to tuck this in your purse!
Unfortunately, like any other Nars lip pencil, this doesn't twist up as well. You need to sharpen it periodically, which means a portion of the product goes to junk. Truly heartbreaking considering this lip pencil retails for Php1,450.

Hands down, Dragon Girl is one of my favorite shades from the Nars Velvet Matte line. It's a fab color, and I totally recommend this to any one who likes me - finds joy in wearing bright lip colors!
