Dermclinic: Beauty At 40 + Their Newest Endorser!

Little did I know that years after, I'd be invited to take part in celebrating Dermclinic's 4 decades of professional dermatology. Despite the gloomy weather and heavy traffic, I survived and arrived at Felix, Greenbelt 5 in one piece.

The event started with an invocation and welcoming remarks from no other than the father of Philippine dermatology and founder and President of Dermclinic, Dr. Vinson B. Pineda. Dr. Pineda trained in New York in Dermatopathology and Dermatology for the New York University's Skin and Cancer Unit. Currently, Dr. Pineda is the President of Philippine Academy of Clinical and Cosmetic Dermatology for the past 6 years and is also a member of the Philippine Medical Association. He has been in service for over 40 years and is also a practicing Christian and credits God in the success of all his endeavors.
I was an instant fan! Oh and here's a little side story: I told him that I couldn't fathom the fact that he founded a 40-year-old company. I was doing my math pretty hard (pre-med + med proper + residency). I told him he looked young and he returned my comment with amusement and said that he was already 76 years old. Seriously, my jaws almost dropped. He looked more like just in his sixties in my opinion.
And then, after a short audio visual presentation about Dermclinic's road to 40 years, Dermclinic announced Miss Maria Venus Raj, Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 2010, and Miss Universe 4th Runner-Up as the new face of Dermclinic.
Aside from her success in the Miss Universe pageant in 2010, Miss Maria Venus Raj was also awarded as the "Woman of the Year" in the recently concluded 10th Gawad Amerika Awards Night last November 5. The Gawad Amerika Foundation honors individuals who excel in their respective careers and make a difference in their lives and communities.
After the big announcement was the questions and answers portion. Press people asked Dr Vinson B. Pineda and Venus Raj and the two wittily answered there questions. Dr. Vinson B. Pineda noted this in his interview: "We are thankful to the Lord and to our customers and patrons for our success all throughout these 40 years. Dermclinic was founded in the hopes of bringing professional dermatological services to all Filipinos and bringing them quality products that will help them protect and maintain the health of their skin. After all, a healthy skin is a beautiful skin." And then Venus Raj said: "I am honored to be chosen as an ambassadress of Dermclinic, the true skin and hair clinic. Being exposed to so many beautiful women in the 2010 Ms. Universe pageant, I've seen how those candidates with the healthiest skin exuded a different glow. I've realized that the secret to beautiful skin -in whatever color, is indeed healthy skin, which is what Dermclinic is about."
Shortly after, lunch was served (which by the way was really good!). And then, the always fun part - picture taking!
