Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask

Innisfree is one of my favorite roadside skin care shop. If you're like me and you're into Korean skin care, I bet the Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask does not need any more introduction to you. It is one of Korea's cult beauty products and it has been featured in so many beauty sites ever since it debuted in the market. It is a product loved by many, making it one of the top best selling products of Innisfree.

Product description: "A wash-off clay mask that claims 6-in-1 pore care: shrinks pores + control sebum + exfoliates + deeply cleanse + brightens tones + cools down the skin. It is made from minerals released by volcanic explosions in Jeju and it is categorized as a preserved alkaline resource, making it effective in removing sebum and other impurities. As the capsule burts. the mask exfoliates and removes dead skin cells while the AHA ingredient in it chemically exfoliates and smooths out the skin. The strong absorption of sebum and cooling effect of the clay refreshes the skin and contracts pores."

Innisfree Super Volcanic Clay Mask claims that it works great in treating pores, which is one of my biggest skin issue. So armed with the raves about this product in the beauty community, I ordered it online (via Althea) for Php560 and used it immediately when it arrived. And oh boy, it was definitely love at first mask!

Innisfree is a straight-up mud pack or clay mask, housed in a little plastic tub. It is thick and opaque but it spreads with ease on the face. It has a nice cooling effect that didn't overly tingle or irritate my skin. It feels comfortable on the skin - not suffocating in any means. It also has a faint refreshing scent that makes me adore it even more. Don't worry it doesn't smell like ash or anything burnt.

I used this once a week after cleansing and toning my face. I just apply a generous amount of this clay mask all over my face, wait for it to dry (around 10 minutes) and then I rinse it off with lukewarm water. I love putting this on after a long day because it is very calming to use. I feel like it lifts my spirit while it sucks all the dirt inside my pores. Definitely the perfect companion for diy pamper time. I love how my skin feels cleaner, tighter and softer after using this, without that horrifying feeling of leaving your skin as dry as the Sahara desert.

I have predominantly large pores around my nose which are always filled up with blackheads. I like that after using this clay mask, my pores immediately looked a lot finer. It doesn't eradicate all the blackheads (like when you have a facial), but it reduces them to a more forgiving degree if you know what I mean.

Swatch!

In action!

I'm not sure if you can catch the difference on my skin but believe me, in person, my skin looked so much clearer after using this mask. It appeared less oily and more radiant. It even gave my cheeks that slight pinkish healthy flush which even my husband noticed (which is no way a sign of irritated skin btw). I have the most ridiculously sensitive skin and this little guy did not break me out.
.
Over all, I love this clay mask to bits. In fact I'm already on my second tub! Believe the hype about this clay mask because it works really well. It does the job with flying colors, not just ash gray (pun intended).

But still, I'm on the verge of  trying the other wash-off masks from Innisfree so if you have recommendations for me, hit the comments below! I'm eyeing the peppermint one actually. As always, thanks for dropping by and until the next blog post! xx
