It's already the month of December; - aka the most wonderful time of the year! This means that it's time to be festive and to wear something sparkly! For the nails, I'd say drop the classic hot red pedi and wear something a little more unexpected. Lost for ideas? Then take a look at this gorgeous nail laquer from OPI Spiderman 2012 Collection; - Just Spotted The Lizard.

Lets just say that I have been buying a ton of beauty products sporadically over the past few weeks, which is why I've accumulated a ton of fun stuff to show to all of you. Enter, my long overdue beauty haul post!
More photos after the jump!
My first Essie polish is this lovely periwinkle blue with sugarcoated pearl flecks and goes by this lovely name; - Smooth Sailing (Php420). Smooth Sailing is also part of Essie Summer 2011 Braziliant Collection).

My lousy application and not so great photos do not give justice to this shade (my apologies) but believe me this is such a fantastic color! It is a shade that you don't get to see on every rack of other nail polish brands. It might not look that appealing on the bottle, but up close, it's subtle silver, pink and turquoise glitters make it outstanding. Application was also a breeze; - nice formula, opaque color, dries incredibly fast and stays put really well.
Thanks to Sol of Digital Traincase (where I bought this polish and where you can get one for yourself too) for recommending this shade to me! I love it to bits and I'm sure this will start my addiction to Essie polishes (gulp!).
Thoughts?

I love wearing nail lacquers. You would rarely see my toes without them. Before, I love going to nail spas for my weekly pedicures. However, due to a horrible experience from a salon that led to this scenario: me lying on an operating room and having a surgeon operate on my big toe because of an infected ingrown years ago, I stopped that weekly habit and just decided to do my pedicures on my own. It might be tedious at times but better safe than sorry (again!), right? But for manicures, I sometimes indulge myself to one every once in a while.
Now the perks of my DIY commitment are: (1) Way cheaper!; (2) I learned to operate an autoclave machine to sterilize my tools; (3) I have all the reasons to scout and haul for toxic-free nail polishes; (4) I discovered so many amazing nail polish blogs and (5) Looking and organizing my nail polish stash makes me happy (seriously!).
And today, I present to you the newest members of my happy nail polish family.
Yesterday, I went to two awesome sale events and treated myself to some indulgences (without breaking the bank!). My first stop was at Megatent, Ortigas for the Best Deals On Sale event. My primary purpose in going was my lust for buying Melissa shoes marked down at almost half their retail prices! The sizes were a little limited, but I think I was still able to score lovely pieces. Scroll down and play judge! (wink)

Melissa Scarfun Summer Wedge in Lilac (Php1800 only)
And then, we went to the Phil-Cosmetics Expo at SM Megamall to visit Digital Traincase's stall. Their display rack was phenomenal! Too bad, I got so excited with the polishes that I forgot to take photos. Anyhoo, the NYX polishes (Php150 each) were at Buy 2 Take 1, so the little nail junkie in me told me to grab that deal, lol. Picking which nail polish to take home was really difficult because all the colors were super pretty. I want them all, no kidding! But I haven't tried NYX polishes before so I told myself that I will be fine with just three bottles (for now!). So after carefully contemplating, I got the following:

Swatches to follow!
How about you? Did you go to these events too? Let me know and share with me the things that you got by hitting the comments section below!
Until the next purchase!
