Yesterday night, I attended Freeway's Manansala Special Tribute and Collection Launch at The Row, Glorietta 5, Makati City. The event was a celebration of the life, ingenuity and timeless creations of Vicente Manansala, a National Artist of our country in Visual Arts. It was indeed the perfect platform where fashion definitely connived with art!

Now back to the launch..

The event was hosted by eventologist Tim Yap and fashion heiress Divine Lee. A video presentation about the life and the great accomplishments of Vicente Manansala, the legendary Visual artist was also shown. The event was also graced by special guests: Maritess Mendoza-Pineda, President of Friends of Manansala Foundation, Celine Lopez-Vargas of The Lopez Museum and Ronna Manansala, granddaughter of Vicente Manansala. Live caricature and sketching were also done by the artists from the Kunst Group before the show. 

The 22-piece Manansala collection was also presented in a fashion show. See some of the fabulous pieces in action below!

From what I have seen on the runway, this collection is a real masterpiece. I love how Vicente Manansala's art was incorporated in trendy pieces (from crop tees to shift dresses). Freeway definitely made sure that they have something to offer to women of all ages, shapes and lifestyles. 


With this ingenuous collaboration, pristine art is no longer confined in frames and hanged on museums. Thanks to Freeway, we can do more than just standing 3 feet away from a Manansala art piece and adoring its totality. In this lifetime, we already have the power to wear or carry a piece of our rich culture and heritage on our wardrobe any time of the day!
