Mac Matte Powder Blush in Taupe

9:15 PM

I recently finished my Nars Laguna bronzer and was on the fence of repurchasing it or trying a new product. At first, I was strongly considering getting Benefit Hoola but I'm not really a big fan of the carton packaging of Benefit's boxed powders. My dilemma ended when my MUA used Mac Matte Powder Blush in Taupe (retails for Php1,400) on me.

Mac Matte Powder Blush in Taupe is a PRO product and was recently re-promoted as part of Mac Fall 2014 Artificially Wild Collection. It is a cool-toned brown with a slight gray undertone.

Unlike my Nars Laguna bronzer, this has a matte finish which makes it
give the most natural contour on my light Asian skin tone (NC20). I like how this shade just feels right - not too orange-y nor too bronze-y. Because of that, I can easily get away with contouring my cheeks and even my nose without over doing it (read:looking muddy). It is highly pigmented and it stays all day.

I also like that I can also use this as an eye shadow. On days when I'm too lazy to reach through my eye shadow palette drawer, I just apply this all over my lids and place a bit more on the outer corner of my lids for a more defined look and I'm out of the door.

Over all, I'm a big fan of this product and I'm so happy that I have it now in my collection. It looks really natural that I can get away with using this every single day. Now, I can go see the world with a slimmer face, a slightly higher cheek bone and a thinner nose bridge without being under the knife.

Swatch!
