Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in #42 L'Eclatante8:24 PM
I have a new favorite pink lipstick and I've been wearing it non-stop ever since I purchased it from Changi Airport. It's from Chanel and its name is something that I don't even try to pronounce (I'll butchered it for sure). I guess it looks pretty damn good on me because I always receive a compliment or two every time I have this on. The lipstick in question is no other than Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in #42 L'Eclatante.
You see, I was innocently looking at the Chanel counter at the Changi Airport with only one goal - to buy a blush. Period. But this little guy caught my attention, so I swatched it and boom, I fell in love with it in an instant.
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in #42 L'Eclatante is a medium bright yellow-based pink that instantly brightens my face in a swipe. It is housed in a classic, spring-loaded black tube that just screams elegance at its finest. You just need to push the Chanel gold insignia on top to reveal the entire lipstick. Really classy, imho.
The formula sits in between a satin and a matte, and it has a slight sheen to it. The texture is smooth and creamy. It is highly pigmented that I only need one good swipe to achieve full opacity. It doesn't migrate and it feels extremely lightweight on the lips (which is what I love the most about this formula). It stays decently on the lips too despite after a few hours (and drinks) and leaves a nice pink stain afterwards.
However, I find that if I don't properly prep my lips (read: lipbalm + lip scrub), this has a tendency to suck up all the moisture and accentuate the folds of my lips. So make sure to hydrate your lips with a good lip balm before putting this on.
Over all, I am head-over-heels with this lipstick and I think its reign as being my favorite pink lipstick would not end anytime soon. In fact, it's a lipstick that I could see myself wearing on my wedding day.
Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet Lipstick in #42 L'Eclatante is available at Chanel counters nationwide. It is part of the permanent collection and retails for Php1750.
How about you? What's your fave pink lipstick?
