Mac Blot Powder in Medium

1:19 AM

Like most girls, I hate seeing myself looking extra shiny by mid day too. Oil-blotting sheets can help keep oil at bay for others, but not for me. You see, my skin tend to react violently towards most blotting films so I use them with caution. I have dry-to-combination skin and to help me not look extra greasy than usual, I always keep my Mac Blot powder in Medium within reach.

Product Description from Mac: A unique pressed powder designed primarily to provide shine control without adding any noticeable colour or texture. Sets foundation, finishes faces. For use in professional situations and for frequent touch-ups. Blot Powder contains Mica and Silica to absorb excess oils and reduces shine on the skin's surface. Can be applied with the puff that comes in the compact or with a powder brush.

Seriously, Mac nailed it in describing this powder. This product does everything stated above (no kidding!). Aside from being a trusty oil-busting/face mattifying partner (keeps oil at bay for 3-4 hrs at least on me), this powder sets my BB cream and liquid foundation beautifully as well. I just swirl my kabuki brush onto the pan, and lightly brush it onto my skin. And let me tell you, a little goes a long way! It helps my make up last longer than usual and it photographs remarkably good (no disgusting white powder residue).

I also love how finely-milled the powder feels. I have sensitive skin, and (surprisingly) this powder never broke me out. It may not be housed in the most expensive-looking case, but I like that it's compact and sturdy enough for me to toss it inside my bag.

No debate, this product really keeps the shine down and works well for quick touch ups. I've been through countless compacts of this already, and despite the (huge) possibility of me trying other powders in the future, I can still see myself repurchasing this at one point or another.

Mac Blot powder is part of the permanent line and currently retails for Php1375. It comes in 5 shades; - light, medium, medium dark, dark and deep dark. For reference, I'm NC20 in Mac, and medium works best for me.

However, be mindful that this is designed as a blot powder. So if you seek a powder that would provide you coverage on its own, this is not the product for you.
